The UBC online global health journal club is being organized approximately every 2 months through the Division of Global Health in the UBC Department of Family Practice, to discuss current or sometimes controversial articles related to global health findings, research, events, initiatives and policy.
This idea started with rural residents looking for ways to stay involved with a global health community. It is hoped to result in students, residents, physicians and faculty with global health interest from across BC linking together for global health discussion.
The online journal club provides a great opportunity to review global health literature and a forum for some dialogue. It may also offer an excellent opportunity to meet and talk to experts in the field virtually. It will be facilitated by faculty members with expertise in global health and one or two articles will be reviewed and discussed at each time.
The format is online, through an interactive medium called adobe connect, which can be found at:
https://meetingfomubc.adobeconnect.com/_a948230120/globalhealthjournalclub/
Instructions to attend the meeting:
- Login as a Guest to Adobe Connect at the above link (mute your speakers)
For those participating in MainPro accreditation, you may claim one MainPro M-2 Credit for each hour of participation (we recommend 1-2 hours, for both reviewing articles and participating in the journal club).
Please join us for the next online journal club!
