GHI Workshop: Vision Village – Feb. 5th, 2016

road-640pxThe Global Health Initiative’s next exciting workshop on creating a “vision village” will be taking place on Friday February 5th at 6pm. Please be advised that this workshop is mandatory for those going on GHI trips this summer.

Our speaker will be Bjorn Stime, the PhD student at SPPH and he will facilitate a fun exercise, Vision Village, that provides a creative opportunity to imagine – through drawing and mapping on paper in groups – the Utopian worlds that we’re all working working toward in our global health work. It also provides an opportunity for more deeply understanding advocacy, power struggles and collective action to uphold the dignity and respect we all seek. Our discussion will touch on themes of sustainable development, colonialism & hegemony, and autonomy vs. paternalism.
