The next Global Health Initiative Workshop: Community Needs Assessment, is on January 6, 2011. Speaker Dr. Jane Buxton from the UBC School of Population and Public Health will lead the workshop which will be beneficial to anyone planning a global health project in near or distant future and will be of great importance to those planning their projects for the coming summer.

UBC Global Health Initiative is a student-run initiative that seeks to enhance global education and provide hands-on skills training to UBC students via a series of monthly skill-building workshops. GHI also offers students the opportunity to participate in global health projects in Uganda, Honduras, India, Kenya, and even right in Canada. Many students involved in GHI projects are carrying out research projects and publishing their findings.
